Well, my fellow readers . . . it's been almost 2 months since I've posted on this thing.  Here's the update:  I have been busy with school and already have finals in less then a week.  It's been 2 months since I've last seen Dan. . . I suppose that is all that I have to share with you, the readers.  I'll write again in 2 months . . .perhaps sooner . . but don't count on it .   Adios!

    Pleasant Surprise!

I had quite the pleasant surprise today.  I received a dozen red roses from my sweetie from miles away.  They were beautiful.  (In fact, I'm going to try and post a couple pictures of them). . . You know, it's already been 5 months since I last saw him.  It seems like it's only been a couple months.  But the good news: We're over half way through this deployment.  Just another 8 months to go and I keep having "I think I can I think I can" go through my head.  Actually, it's more like "I know I can. . ." ( get through this).  What's another 8 months?  Right?  I work with a lady named Sue and I found out some interesting stuff about her.  Such as her first husband (he later died of cancer) was sent to Vietnam for 2 tours.  (Both of which she was with him).  It was nice to meet someone who could relate to some of the feelings I sometimes have about the situation.  Of course, Dan and I are a lot more priviledge than she and her husband were. . . For example: Dan usually calls every 3rd/4th day and we get to talk for 30 minutes and sometimes he'll go online and then we can talk for another 30 minutes.  Sue said her husband called her on Valentine's Day for 4 minutes and that was about it, otherwise they corresponded through letters.  So, in a sense Dan and I are lucky.  Especially him since I can load my webcam for him and then he can see me from miles away.  Unfortunately, I don't get to see him...but oh well...he's the one that needs the morale boost.  Anyway, this little entry...turned out to be longer than expected.  I hope you all enjoy the photos.  P.S.  Obie decided he wanted to take a smell of the roses and jumped on the table to smell them (naughty kittie)..anyway....I tried to grab a picture of the naughty kittie in action and...CHANGE BATTERIES...my battery died in my camera. . .

So here are the two shots I got of the flowers.. . . Maybe my creative side will kick in and I'll take more photos of them . . .

    Have a good evening,
    Signing off,

    The Wedding Dress

So, this is how it began, I was in a bit of a funk and thought, "I want to try on wedding dresses, doesn't mean I have to buy one . . . ."  So, I made an appointment for Cindy and me to go to David's Bridal on Tuesday.  After trying on about 6 or 7 dresses I kept coming back to this same one.  The first one the consultant gave me was to small so we asked if they had it in my size, which they didn't, it was either that small one or the one that was a size to big, so I tried on the size to big one and the consultant tugged the back so it fit properly.  I fell in love with it.  I guess it is true what they say, "You'll know it's the 'one' the minute you put it on."

Details about it:  It's a light ivory (which put next to the Apple color I have picked out for the bridesmaid dresses it looks very, very elegant) and trimmed in a champagne color.  The champagne color goes through out the beadwork and the SPARKLES.. . . I love how it sparkles. . . And I'm going to have spaghetti straps put on it. . . so for those of you who haven't seen the dress yet...which I'm sure there aren't a lot of you left out there. . . I'm going to post the photos on here . . .

It was a lot of fun especially to be able to have Cindy there to help me out.  (those dresses are really heavy!)

Now I can check that one off of my list.  Paid for etc.  *sigh of relief*

I hope you all enjoy the photos.

    It's been a month and a half

Hello my fellow readers...yes it's been about a month and a half since I last updated this thing. . . let's see here..what's happened in that month and a half?  Only my trip to the best amusement park EVER!  It's called Cedar Point, it's in Sandusky, OH.  Gail (Dan's mom) invited me to go along.  So it was just her and me, it was a lot of fun.  It was fun learning more about Dan and his family.  Other then that adventure, nothing to exciting around here.

I'm heading back home today.  I'm going to be there until Wednesday.  Cin and I are going to paint the "guest" room tomorrow and on Tuesday we're going to have lunch with my favorite Nana (my only Nana) so that should be fun.

Next Saturday I take my "big" exam in order to be a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (I'm a little nervous about that).  The NCPT pretty much means a raise for me (if I pass) and that's about it.

Word from the Front (Iraq) (that sounds funny. . .as though it were from the olden times): Dan is still bored.  He has a cycle he follows for missions: 2 days off (1 is a prep day) 3 day mission, 2 days off (1 is a prep day) 4 day mission; and the cycle continues.  That's about it.  Oh and he LOVES getting care packages. . . so if anyone would be interested in his address...you know my number or my msn name.

Other news:  I HAVE A GOLDFISH!!!  I've decided to name her Zelda (not sure if it is male/female **shrugs**)  I'm going to attach some photos of Obie (the kitty) and Zelda (the goldfish).  I hope you all enjoy them.

Well, looks like it's time for me to finish getting ready for work.  I will talk to you all later.  Toodles.

    Been in a funk lately

Sorry I haven't updated my blog in awhile.  Not much to report on other then Dan's leave being pushed from the end of June to January 2007.  "Someone messed up paperwork," is what they told Dan.  Anyway, I've been in a bit of a funk lately, probably caused from that news, but I think I am getting out of the funk.  I think I've got my creativeness <is that even a word?  meh>  I've decided to try and paint a picture of Hydrangeas and I have a picture of them that I am going to try and paint.  Also, Cin's idea for me to try crochetting, I may have to take that up.  Anyone want a scarf?  or a pot holder?  I'll be taking orders.  Hehehe well we'll see about that.  Although I am planning on a little trip with Gail (Dan's mom) to Cedar Point.  I'll have to keep myself busy doing something on the road trip so why not crochett?  Maybe I can crochett a blanket for my soldier.  We'll see how ambitious I get with the whole idea.  Anyone have any ideas of where I can get a book on crochetting?  Let me know.  Well, my clock is telling me it is naptime, so that is where I am off to, before I have to go to work tonight.  I hope to talk to you all later.
    Love ya,
    Annie
P.s. check out "Photos -- Painting Ideas" to see the photo of the hydrangeas

    College Graduate

How exciting!!! Now  I can say that I am a "College Graduate"...I know I know some of you are probably thinking, you just got your Associate in Science degree, big whoop ...yeah well, I want to see you do it. ..and then we can talk . . .anyway...I am quite excited...because it means I can enter my Mortuary Science program now.  Actually start taking classes that deal with my major.

Let's see...what else....it's 11:30 pm..I just got off work and am still wound up...no word from my Daniel for a couple of days, he's probably running missions or do some sort of busy work around the base.  I do have his permanent address (the one you can send packages to) email me or call me or message me if you want it.  Sorry I end up talking about him so much..but he is the love my life...only 327 days left in the deployment...and he gets 2 weeks leave in June sometime ...hopefully toward the end of it...I'm sure I'll trek him up north to see the future in-laws ...and of course we have to go to his parents' house to see his beloved dog, "Sunny"  who is a yellow lab ...and the biggest sweetheart...oh and we'd see his parents as well...wellll I suppose that's all I have for right now...I'll write again in probably another week...more then likely talking about my NEW CAR!! Very exciting right now...

    Love to you all,
    ~Annie

Update on my Knight in Camo Armor

Dan is still alive...wahooo!!...He's gone on quite a few missions...his exact words, "Honey, if all of our missions were like this one, you have nothing to worry about, I am so bored"  My response, "Good as you should be!"    He had a couple days off and was able to call me. It's looking like we'll be talking to one another once a week, which works.  If my counting is correct he only has 11 months left.  How exciting.  I believe he is going to have leave either in June or July, which will be nice to see him, but then I'll have to go 8 months straight without seeing him...which might be a little hard.  I have his permanent address if anyone wants it --- email me, call me, or message me on MSN --- I guess that's all the news I have from my honey overseas.

Now on to me, not much to tell, just that it's finals week and I have a cold.  I go the entire semester without getting sick, etc.  and a couple days before finals...I get a cold...needless to say I'm drugged up on the good Sudafed for the daytime and the wonderful NyQuil at night.  Anyway, I shall go and get ready for work.

    Love to you all.  ~QueeenAnne

    Only 490 days until the "Big" Day...how exciting . . . .

    Dan is in Iraq

UPDATE: Dan is finally in Iraq.  Sounds like people got sick on the cargo plane but were fine otherwise.  (Dan made it without getting sick; which is impressive since he gets motion sickness; I'm very proud of him).  An estimated 348 days left in country.  I'll try to keep everyone up to date.  ~Annie  **I do have an email address for him if anyone would like it, let me know**

    Ode to my Family

    Dear Family:

I wanted to write this thank you to all of you who have been so supportive of me.  Thank you for wondering how I am handling all of this deployment business; I do not think I could get through this without my family.  I am so glad they are always there for me to listen to me when I need to talk about what is going on with everything.  I just wanted to send out a short but to the point thank you.  I love you all.  Family is the best thing and it is definately something to hold on to for your whole life.  Love you guys.  Keep asking me how I'm doing, I really appreciate it.

    Love, Annie

    Try to Give Blood...JEESH!

Last Friday I decided I would try to donate blood.  I figure, I have no fear of blood or needles.  What the heck, besides I have done it before.  Although, my first time I tried giving blood, they had troubles finding my vein which resulted in the technician digging around for it.  Eventually finding it...at least I bled...So this time around I thought oh yeah, everything is going to go great.  I'm going to be happy that I've donated blood because someone could use it.  Boy was I wrong.  Everything was going fine until I heard the little machine beeping and then the technician who put the needle in came over and looked disappointed.  She said that my bleeding had slowed down to only 1 ml at a time; generally they like it to be up to at least 15ml at a time.  So I started squeezing that little "stress" ball to try to make myself bleed more.  In the process, she called over a fellow technician to try to reposition the needle...she was unsuccessful....I was at 422 ml when they cut me off.  I need 450ml to make a full pint.  Unfortunately, they can't use my blood since it wasn't a full pint.  The technician told me that I was going to have one heck of a bruise from all of this and lucky for you (my faithful reader) you get to see a picture of my bruise (5 days later).  Let's just say, I've had to stick to long sleeve shirts for these last few days since I looked like a heroin addict at first and now I've moved into the batterd woman look.  Take a look at the photo.  I hope you all have enjoyed my "donating" blood experience; and yes I will try again.  I will keep trying until I give a perfect donation (that means no vein or bleeding troubles).  Wish me luck.  Love to you all ~Annie (9 days until I go to Mississippi to see the love of my life)
My computer is refusing to cooperate with adding a photo; so I'm going to put the picture of my bruised arm under the PHOTO category.  CHECK IT OUT!

    Back in High Demand

I guess I'm back to writing on this thing.  I just got off of work.  It was crazy tonight because someone called in sick so we were a person short.  Which I'm sure some of you are saying, " Just one person short..psshh that can't be all bad" ...oh but..if you only knew...Also, we only had 1 manager for the entire store which really stinks, because if the front needs help ringing and we need help ringing usually the front will win.  And we're stuck with 15 people in line.

I got my very first painting done today.  Oh was it a happy day.  It was fun at the beginning and then I changed the color of one of the flowers in it and then I did the sky and had to change the flower again.  I thought painting was supposed to be relaxing?? Well, my next assignment is doing a still life of objects that represent me.  I've decided to get different vial sizes from the pharmacy, use some drug packages I have at home, and paint all of that.  Because well people, whether you like it or not, I am a drug dealer (legal stuff of course ).  I'm a bit concerned about this assignment since we have to free hand drawing the objects, and well, I couldn't even draw stick people if I tried...so it should be interesting.  Sunshine said she'd help me out.

Does this make sense?  Midterm grades have to be in by this Friday (tomorrow) but our Midterm exams aren't for another week.  Anyone have any ideas about that?  If you do, leave me your opinion or thoughts.  I do know I'm getting an  "A" in Spanish and a "B" in my Math class; as for my other classes, I know I'm passing them.

Well, update on Dan: He's back in Mississippi after spending 20 days in  Louisiana for  JRTC(?) His "MOS" is Infantry, but is highly thinking about switching to a Combat Medic when he gets back from Iraq; we'll see if he changes his mind after seeing all the blood and gore over there...Oh man, why did I just say that...he isn't going to see ANY blood and gore; he's going to be BORED out of his mind; because he's not going to be anywhere NEAR Baghdad....Of course I do not know this for sure, but I'm going to continue to live in my favorite bubble called Denial for as long as this goes on.  Anyway only 15 Days until I go down to Mississippi.  (That's 2 weeks and a day)

Anyway, I should get to sleep.  I'll try to keep you al lupdate from now on.  Bye bye ~Annie

    F.Y.I

This is just an F.Y.I (For your information) entry; I do not think...I will be doing entries for awhile...I have no inspiration for writing on here....also I should be focusing more on my studies...talk to you all later.  ~Annie (25 days)

    Humdedumbdedooo

Hey there kiddlets.  I've decided to do an entry at 11:33 PM (when I should be in bed, sleeping).  Let's see, the latest update, I got last week completed.  Thank goodness.  Now for this week.  Work tomorrow until 11 and Thursday until 10 and I have a Western Civ. exam at 9 am on Friday.  But oh well.  Tomorrow in my Sociology class we are having the people from the club CUFFS talk to us.  They are a club about bondage, S&M, etc.  Now that should be interesting.  I am excited for this weekend, since well, I get to go home and see the ma and pa and the little Betsy- Boo.  I'm sure we'll be in Sioux Falls sometime during this weekend and maybe I'll make an appearance at my favorite Nana's house (if that's okay).  Of course I'll call ahead.  Anyway, the go-cart is still chugging along..although it would be nice to get that 2002 Olds Alero I keep drooling over when I drive by...some day....

Well, Dan is going to be out in the field for the next 12 days, which means no contact.  It's known as their "War Games" <whatever that means> all I know is that he is currently in Louisiana and is hating every minute of it.  We'll be missing Valentine's Day yet again.  We've been together for over 2 years and have never been able to celebrate Valentine's Day.  Year 2004 = Dan at bootcamp; Year 2005 = classes, Year 2006 = Dan's deployment.  Grr at the Military for interferring with my day of Love.  <Shrug> Someday we'll celebrate it together.  I know it's just a hyped up "holiday" brought to you by our society.

I started painting on my canvas today, quite exciting.  Although I do have to admit I was a little nervous/intimidated by it.  I want to make the perfect painting and not do any mess ups.  Of course my buddy Sunshine (yes that's her name; cool chick by the way) is an avid painter and showed me some tricks and on Thursday is going to show me a technique using an old tooth brush (she's shown/taught me more than our instructor).

Well, kiddlets it is off to bed I go; Hope you all have a good rest of the week and I'm sure I'll be posting many entries.  30 Days to go until I see Dan again.

Mister is passed out on my bed...exactly where I should be..the little turkey...

    A lot this Week

Here's my schedule for the week: Monday: No tests; 1 paper due; work Tuesday: No tests/Papers; Art projects due Wednesday: Test in Cultural Anthropology; No paper Thursday: Start working on Canvas and work Friday: Test and Paper/Work. . . hopefully this will all keep me busy since Dan is leaving today for JRTC in Louisiana where they will "play" war games (don't ask me what that is).  That means for the next 20 days communication with one another will be slim to nothing and we miss another Valentine's Day.  We've been together for over 2 years and we have yet to celebrate Valentine's Day with one another.  Oh well...when we do get to celebrate one together there will be a lot of catching up to do.  Good news..only 58 dollars left on the ring. . .at least he'll have it paid off by the time we get married .  Anyway just wanted to type out a quick entry.  I have to get going to class now.  Western Civilization II....good times good times....I have a book I should be reading in that class (it's for the paper that is due on Friday)....but who wants to read about the French Revolution and Human rights??  Anyway only 37 Days until I'll be down in Mississippi.  <sigh> A month and 6 days.  Yippeeee.  Love to you all ~Annie
    January 24

    Grr

So, my phone rang last night at 10:10 and who was it? Dan...unfortunately he'd had a very, very bad day.  Which I was in a good mood instantly put me into a bad mood.  I feel like a bitch because I ended our conversation with, "If you're going to be in a pissy mood tomorrow, don't call me."...Grrr...It's so frustrating though..When he's having a bad day, I can't do anything to help, or can I, anyone have any thoughts?
Please help.  I obviously can't give him a hug....if he were a girl all I'd have to do is send him chocolate...at least that would put me in a better mood... <Sigh>...What to do ...They have a support group for his unit, maybe I'll try and contact them and try to get some advice...I know he won't be re-enlisting when all of this is over.  So that's good.  At least I think so..I am in "aww" of the women/men who have a loved one over there for a second, third, etc. time.  Somedays, I don't think we're going to make it through this one...I know we will, but I still have days where I don't think we will...anyway..enough of my drama ...I'm going to get going, I have to go to classes.  I have my painting class today, so hopefully that will relax me and put me in a better mood.  **44 days until Dan's pass (That's a month and a half)**
    January 19

    Sooo Sleepy...

Well, Dan was able to call me last night, we talked for about 20 min..which was nice.  Sounds like they are out of the field for the time being...Apparently, Bravo company (Dan's company) has been getting very high marks on every task that they are handed...which is good...but also means they have to go and help out Charlie company a lot (from the sounds of it).  Anyway, he was going to try and give me a call tonight, not looking like he got the chance, which is fine..maybe we can talk tomorrow...
I just got off from working at the finest establishment around (Walgreens Pharmacy)...okay..it really isn't...I think the biggest thing I can not stand is when people come in or use the drive thru and are yacking on their dang cell phone...okay first of all I do not really care if Susie did this and Susie did that..and second of all..I do not appreciate you (the customer) making me feel as though I am the one that is being inconsiderate...I think the next customer that does that...I'm going to stand there and just stare at them until they hang up their phone...in fact..I think I will do it tomorrow night, since I work 4 to 10..and I'm suuure someone is going to be talking on their cell phone...Moral of the story....Hang up your phone while you're being helped somewhere...plleaseee...do it for me if you wont do it for yourself...
Anyway...I am very sleepy and I have a day full of classes and work..so I will be signing off...I hope you all have a good weekend...I might update this thing..and I may not..we will see..Good Night.  ~Annie
    49 DAYS
    January 16

Sunday Morning (I know this is Monday but go with it)

I got a call at exactly 7:30 in the am ..and who was it?? None other than my knight in shining armor (literally)...we actually got to talk for longer then 2 min..it was splendid...but the thing that stumped me is that ..we've gone a week without a conversation with one another..and the minute he called I forgot everything that happened in the last week...but perhaps..that's just because he woke me up..which was a-okay..definately a splendid way to start the day ...anyway..just thought I'd type out a quick update...Amy is here and she is in some serious need of "Shopping Therapy" (as she calls it)...only 52 days until Dan has a pass...Love to you all
